Meet the RTM Directors

  • Robert Clark

I’ve been living at Dalston Curve since February 2024 and have really enjoyed being part of the fantastic community we have here in the building. However, it quickly became clear that something wasn’t working on the management side. Service charges are higher than average, response times from Remus are painfully slow, and issues that matter to residents aren’t being addressed.

The flooding on the Kingsland side in December really brought this home for me. It showed just how urgently we need change — and why we must take action to gain control over which management company represents us, and to ensure any future provider is truly accountable to residents.

  • Clement Delay

I’ve been living in Dalston since 2022 and love both the area and the strong sense of community in our building. Like many leaseholders, though, I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with the poor service provided by our management company, Remus.

In just three years, I’ve seen service charges rise year after year — now far higher than comparable blocks nearby — with little to show in return. Persistent issues such as flooding and ongoing bin problems on Kingsland High Street remain unresolved, and there is a complete lack of accountability.

That’s why I’m encouraging fellow leaseholders to join me in pursuing our Right to Manage. RTM gives us the legal power to appoint a management company that works for us: delivering a higher standard of service, managing our building effectively, and providing full transparency on costs. Most importantly, it gives us the chance to restore our block into a place we can all be proud of — and truly enjoy living in.

  • Jonathan Fletcher

I’ve been a resident of Dalston Curve since 2022, having previously lived in Dalston Square. I love the area and my overall experience of Dalston has been fantastic. However, like many of my neighbours, I’ve become increasingly frustrated by rising service charges, poor standards of management, and the lack of transparency in how our building is run.

  • Jed Hemsley

I’ve lived in Dalston Curve since January 2024, having previously lived just down the road in Dalston. I love living here and really value the community vibe of our building. However, like many fellow leaseholders, I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with escalating costs, poor service, and the lack of transparency from our current managing agent, Remus.

Service charges rise year after year, yet there’s little visible investment in the building. Basic services like cleaning, decorating, maintenance, and security are delivered poorly, leaving residents paying more but receiving less.

By pursuing Right to Manage (RTM), we as leaseholders can take back control. RTM gives us the legal right to appoint a managing agent who works for us—not the freeholder. This means:

We set the annual budget and decide how money is spent.

We ensure contractors are appointed cost-effectively.

We direct investment into the services and improvements that actually matter to us.

If any of these points resonate with you, please confirm your interest in joining the RTM effort. Together, we can ensure Dalston Curve is managed transparently, maintained properly, and continues to be a place we’re all proud to call home.

  • Oliver Parkhouse

I’ve lived at Dalston Curve on and off for a few years, and permanently for the past 18 months. It’s a fantastic block in a great area, but with Remus as our managing agents we’ve faced ongoing issues. Their failure to maintain the building to an acceptable standard, combined with ever-increasing annual charges, has become unsustainable.

As leaseholders, we’re passionate about improving the condition of our block — and pursuing the Right to Manage is the crucial first step.
